About Tannery Row

We are located inside beautiful Tannery Row in

Historic Buford, Georgia. We are less than

 3 miles from Mall of Georgia and 30 miles from

 Atlanta. Tannery Row is the historic 13-acre

facility, former home of the Bona Allen Shoe

and Horse Collar Factory. Built at the turn of the

century, these buildings are fully restored and

listed on the Historic Register. In the summer of

2003 a birth at the historic Tannery building began with

a hand full of artists. Now, nearly 4 years later, the

few artists have grown to a colony of very talented artists. With 17 artists of different cultural backgrounds, a unique atmosphere has developed and the first artist colony under one roof was forged in the historic Tannery Row building. In December of 2003, the Tannery Row Artist Colony was formed with a multitude of paintings, pottery, figurative sculptures, mixed media, and wrought iron sculptures. This site has emerged in a new light for a new generation. It’s a place for everyone to get lost for a few hours enjoying our unique facility.
